From Toil to Soil

We are inspired. By you, by the bounty of the earth, by all that is good in the world. We have been inspired to make major changes in our lives, and given the strength to do so by the never-ending support of friends and family. We have been inspired to become brave enough to follow our dreams, to take a leap of faith in more ways that one. We can do little to repay such warmth and inspiration but to share this amazing opportunity with as many people as possible, and to write this irregular blog of updates, thoughts and thanks as and when the moment arises.

Two short weeks ago we left the city of Oxford behind us and moved to rural Norfolk and into the Grange - a beautiful 18th century house with 10 acres of meadow, walled garden, paddock, water meadow and river. We are building a plan rooted in the spiritual activism of Alastair McIntosh, the deep wisdom of Mahatma Ghandi and the sage tools of permaculture. This last weekend more than 20 wonderful friends came to share in our space and plans and contributed more than we can imagine. They have given us the strength and belief that we can be the change we want to see in the world and that we can offer some small service to those less fortunate than ourselves.

We are experts in nothing, but apprentices in much. Life from here will be a steep learning curve, but one taken at nature's pace. A life governed by the passing of the seasons, not the deadlines of the machine.

We welcome you to journey with us.

With love and in peace,
Sophie and Ben
